Yep, it really sucks when liberal, white-guilt idiots insist on making sure students are taught WHAT to think instead of HOW to think.

It is a problem though.

What happens is there's an issue. They move to fix it. The offenders start crying victim.

"Boo hoo hoo, what about them..." they whine and point at those completely unconnected to the issue that was causing a problem.

The equality policing arm of a Progressive repressive administration that infects every bureaucracy everywhere jumps into action.

Whiners with victim group backup are too much trouble. Single out the law abiders. Yeah there's the ticket.

So jump the old lady with the colostomy bag for a full body check. May as well make her late for her flight too, just to be sure she gets the point. But let that bevvy of burka babes walk through the turn stiles ummolested. You don't want the sort of complaints that might bother the hivemasters.

I can to it right here, I think.

To be hoisted, by your own petard means...

$1:
Injured by the device that you intended to use to injure others.

More detail here

Andy is enjoying seeing the Christian kids have their school shut down, because one student didn't know what a Muslim was. (Apparently the kid thought it might have something to do with terrorists). What has that to do with hoisting and Petards, you ask?

A petard is a small bomb. They used to use them to bash through gates. So if you got blasted by one you were going to use to blast through somebody's gate you were "hoisted by your own petard".

Here's what Andy is calling a petard in this case.

$1:
There are claims that some schools – mainly those with a religious ethos or in areas with few ethnic minority pupils – have been put under undue pressure by a requirement to promote British values such as tolerance, fairness, respect for other faiths and the rule of law and democracy.

The rules were introduced to combat extremism in the wake of investigations into the Trojan Horse takeover scandal in Birmingham.

The Trojan Horse takeover scandal was a discovery some British schools had been taken over by Muslim fundamentalists to indoctrinate students into a sharia compliant, anti-west, religious fundamentalist worldview.

If you don't know what that would look like think girls at the back, except go to a separate "clean" room if you're menustrating...oh and btw Jews are apes and pigs cause the holy Qu'ran says so. That kind of thing.

So what has Andy dancing in the streets is this problem of what to do about tax funded, Sharia compliant, hate the kufar, Islamic supremacist indoctrination in some schools has "Progressed", into a reaction that looks like nanny state, enforced hyper-equal insanity where everyone is being punished except the ones who created the problem.

Andy sees this as the Brits who didn't want to fund their schools being turned into child terrorist training camps being "hoisted by their own petard".

If they were to use this "system" as a prerequisite to closing schools Canada might just as well say goodbye to the education system.

I wonder if the thought police will go to a Islamic school and ask the students what a homosexual is.

This all started with a hoopla about what Muslims schools were teaching. Good. Seems only fair to check out Christian schools. Better yet, just ban all religious schools.

For a less breathless report of the same situation:
$1:
The government’s flagship free schools programme has been dealt a blow with the announcement that a third school is to close after a damning Ofsted report found that leadership, teaching, pupil behaviour and achievement were all “inadequate”, the lowest possible rating.

Durham Free School, which has a Christian ethos and opened in September 2013, has had its funding agreement terminated after being put in special measures by the schools watchdog, Ofsted, after an inspection in November.

It follows the closure of the Discovery New School in east Sussex, which was forced to shut last year because of poor standards, and the partial closure of Al Madinah in Derby, the country’s first Muslim free school, which had to close its secondary school after a critical Ofsted report.

One of the complaints aimed at the Durham school, which has 94 pupils and struggled to fill places, was that governors were too bothered about “religious credentials” when recruiting, rather than looking for candidates with excellent leadership and teaching skills. In addition, the inspection team found the school was failing to prepare pupils for modern Britain. The report said: “Some students hold discriminatory views of other people who have different faiths, values or beliefs from themselves.”

Teaching was “inadequate”, assessment of students’ work was rated “inaccurate” and “weak” and expectation of pupils’ work was too low. Exclusion rates were high, attendance low and pupil behaviour had led to unsafe situations, particularly on school buses, with “many instances of bullying” and students calling each other unpleasant names. There had also been incidents of students spraying aftershave into other students’ faces, crawling around under seats and failing to use safety belts.

Announcing the termination of funding, education secretary Nicky Morgan said: “The Ofsted report into Durham Free School reveals that children are being let down by a catalogue of failures. It is failing to ensure children are looked after, failing to provide an environment in which children are able to learn, and failing to provide the quality of education that we expect.

“These findings come on top of a review by the Education Funding Agency which identified serious concerns about financial management, control and governance. It is clear that this has been a troubled school for some time and there is no imminent prospect of improvement. We have therefore decided to close the school and will work with the local authority to ensure every child is found a place at another local school where they can thrive and receive the standard of education that they deserve.”

$1:
Unlike other state sector schools in England but like independent schools, free schools are not required to ensure that teachers have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). The government claims that not requiring free schools hire only qualified teachers enables then to pursue "innovation, diversity and flexibility"[41] and "the dynamism that characterises the best independent schools".[42] The Labour Party have expressed their opposition this and said that they would require teachers in academies and free schools be properly qualified.[43]

Yeah, right...the far left propaganda rag, the Guardian, is not known for its "breathless" reporting, is it?

These are the guys whose last big expedition was when they co-sponsored an event to prove hysterical claims of a global warming catastrophe and cruise a ship down to the Antarctic to prove they could, and it was no big deal. That one almost did leave them breathless. It led to them being frozen in the ice and it took 3 countries and millions of dollars to get them off it.

Yeah, no Breathlessness there, all right. Idiots. [laughat]

You know...not that I'm going to bother, but when you take that Guardian piece apart there's not much "there" there.

Fair's fair though. We heard from the not so 'breathless' ones. Let's have a look at what the local press had to say.

Starts like this.

$1:
A CLOSURE-threatened free school has been a victim of the attempted Islamic takeover of Birmingham schools, its chair of governors claims today (Friday, January 23)...

Oh, and the Trojan Horse investigation was just hoopla was it? Time to learn stuff. Start here.

Only if you're wearing petards.

Funny, wiki came up right away when I googled it. Maybe someone could teach stratos how to use wiki. or google even. But I guess we've got enough fart smellers on this board to suffice.
