They called this one right, it's been blowing like a SOB for the last few hours, lights have flickered a couple times but so far so good. There will definitely be major power outages right through the Lower Mainland.

This fricking wind just does not want to let up......it's been wailing now for over 10 hours yet the forecast is for it to diminish this morning......only to have thunder storms move in this afternoon!

A tsunami warning is in effect for coastal British Columbia and parts of Alaska after an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 8.1 struck 250 kilometres southeast of Chiniak, Alaska.
