Everyone in Canada should have to speak French or English and that include immigrants before they are allowed in.

Skilled Worker Immigrants usually do. Family Class immigrants don't have to, and refugees... Well, I think I just made my case.

No one in Canada should be forced to speak French or English. If you are suffering some sort of inferiority syndrome then make your own rules among your friends and family.

If an 18 yr old immigrant that doesn't speak english or french is a threat to your way of life, then I suggest that you have chosen the wrong occupation. Washing dishes in a chinese restaurant is not your god given right.

ASLplease ASLplease:
inferiority

You keep mentionning this for some reason. ok guess you've made your point.

Please no reps, I tend to use some sarcasm in posts. :)

But, it would be fair to say that only to the ''pur & dur'' then.

Ok so on some level, I can understand the ''bashing'' of sort.

Are some Quebecers annoying? You bet your ass. Are some whiners, but of course.

But let's see here. Politically speaking, there seems to be 2 different types:

Federalists
Péquistes

Ok so Federalists, in terms of the population representing the majority, tend to have pro-Canadian values. Often not heard. They go about their business and do not bother much.

Then there are the péquistes of sort. In that category, there are the hardcore separatists ''pur & dur'' and some are soft nationalists. (there could be more ''types'' but let's go with that for the time being).

Now the ones that often speak out in controversy are simply known as the ''pur & dur''. RRQ, Societe St-Jean-Baptiste and so on.

I don't think it's too much to ask immigrants to learn at least one of our official languages. I had to learn Canadian English eh? No car parks, windscreens, pillar boxes, back gardens for me anymore!

I speak proper like what you lot do now.

So yes, on some level, I can agree with you EB and others that have a certain resentment.

The only thing, it would be fun for the ROC to differentiate between the PQ (Parti Quebecois) and the entire provincial population. That's all.

Hell I say it because I picked it up when I lived there and that was only 2 years. Well the Aussies say it too and I spent a year there. Didn't pick up any Aussie slang thought. Too weird.

uwish uwish:
French has faded because your 3 million francophones surrounded by 300 million anglo's!

you will loose this fight, you can't legislate a culture, though you sure do try!

You sure don't know what you are talking about.. so why comment on something that you haven't a clue about
