Sorry to hear the kid got hurt, but there are consequences for your actions, particularly in hockey. His idol is probably someone like the little shit Marchand. Gets away with murder and never backs it up.

Zipperfish Zipperfish:
This is why hockey is starting to lose kids to other sports. Parents don't want their kids to be on their third concussion by the time they're 18.

Five months after the attack and the police are like "these things take time"? They don't take five months when you have clear video evidence. Get with the program.

Maybe they're using some the Frank Drebbin type of cops from the same department investigating the Rehtaeh Parsons case. :|

 This is an old axe I'm grinding, going back to teh Air India case. I don't know if it's teh cops, the prosecutors, the "system"--but it takes far too long to cases to court these days. Tons are getting thrown out because the accused had to wait too long. And this patronizing "well it's very complicated" that we get from the cops and prosecutors is maddening.

Hey, my job is complicated too. Maybe next time I'll just tell my client that I would have got it done but it's really hard.

I'm pretty much 100% pro-cop but I get more than steamed when cases get tossed because of procedural fuck-ups by the investigators. It's been about forty or fifty years now of hyper-sensitive judges throwing out cases and freeing scumbag criminals because the paperwork wasn't right or a cop asked a question that he shouldn't have. The police should have the procedural part down to a science by now to keep this from happening. But it still does and too many idiots and degenerates keep laughing at the law and keep harming others because of it. Unacceptable. :x

I used to be. And then I took a turn at wearing a badge (as a reservist) and working with cops up close and seeing the shit they get away with all the time. That experience truly soured me.

I keep things like who it is that has to clean up the mess from what drunk drivers do, or when some bastard decides to solve his family problems with a handgun, or dealing with druggies who've sold their own children to pedophiles, before I get self-righteous on the cops. They're human and they shouldn't get crucified for having a human reaction to evil and vileness, especially by those who have no idea (or don't give a shit at all) about what they go through on their job.

I always remember what kind of monsters are laying in wait on the other side of the thin blue line. This makes me give the authorities an extra allowance that I really don't mind at all when they bend it every once in a while.
