short skirts and sexual harassment is not a comparison, do you think a women would be upset if a man took her picture while she is wearing the short skirt? I doubt it...not an apples to apples comparison.

shake my booty, in public and then get mad when someone take a photo? that isn't harassment, no one grabbed their ass, spanked it etc. It was a photo of something they are very public about doing.....

If you want to take a photo of someone, ask them. Whether it is right to do so or not comes with their approval. If permission isn't obtained, or you for some reason have no desire to ask for permission, it should be reasonably obvious that you should conclude that they did NOT want their photo taken.

As a guy, I don't even have to worry about inadvertantly becoming part of some sicko's perverse voyueristic spankbank, and yet I'd still prefer being asked before photos are taken of me in any context anywhere.

It amazes me that you even consider this debatable, morally.

The fact of the matter is that no one needs permission from anyone to take their picture in public. You have no expectation of privacy when you are out in a public place. If a person has a legal right to be in a place, they can video anything they wish. If they are using a secret video source to look into an area not publicly viewable (like up a skirt or in a changing area) that's different,, and can be prosecuted. There are grey areas in this story. Are the people trespassing? Do they have a right to be where they are? Are they looking into an area not viewable to anyone else on the street (like up a skirt) or are they taping things that every one else can see (like exposed ass crack)? There could be a case here for prosecution for using secret video recorders. We will see.

Need to vs. should. Get some fucking morals, stop making the world worse.

Hey don't shoot the messager,I'm just stating the way it is. You are living in the wrong century if you do not want your photo taken. Cameras are everywhere. Every business, street corner, red light, etc. Billions of people armed with cell phones taking video as they walk down the street. If someone soes not want their picture taken they need to stay home.

You need to be careful about telling people to get some fucking morals. Thats a slippery slope. The world is full of people who like to impose their set of beliefs on others. Not too long ago people who thought like you (communists) were put on black lists. They losts their jobs, Thier businesses, their homes, their livlihood. They were dragged before kankaroo courts and prosecuted. They went to jail, were spied on, stripped of thier rights and all because they were simply accused of being a communist. No actual proof was required. You see someone in autority had a problem with your belief system. They wanted to impose their moral standards on you, and destroy your life in the process.

In many parts of the world the women in this story would be stoned to death for appearing in public dressed like they were. In many parts of the world people are arrested, or disappear for filming the wrong thing. All because someone wants to impose their belief system on someone else. I say live and let live. People can think what they want to. They can wear what they want to. They can film anything in public they want to. I would like to think that my way of thinking IS making the world a better place to live. I would much rather have freedom of the press than worry about some prima donna whining about her/his picture being taken.

The objectionable "upskirt" shots aside, you're wrong. This was essentially a parade. If you can't take pictures at a parade anymore then something is seriously wrong.

Other than that I agree. The first time I was in Britain I was surprised at just how many "punkers" there were. I was warned by my cousin not to take their pictures unless you asked them first. They'd pretty much always say yes if you asked them but if you didn't, they'd do a camera snatch and smash.
