So I know you thought that statement was beyond challenging, but stay with me. I'm going to attempt an opposition based on reason anyway.
I understand your point as being "one group of fanatics can't be better than another."
How will we measure "better" then? By the harm they do, I assume.
That's what I'll use anyway. So which fanatics are we talking about. Is it like "Tea Party" versus Occupy, Black Bloc, Antifa, SJW, Black live matter kind of fanaticism? Because would that even have to be discussed? The Prog fubars kick fanatic ass if those are the teams. If you don't automatically see how one is less fanatic than the other there we can go through actual harm committed crime by crime if you like. But c'mon...seriously? You know you can't win that one.
So one group of fanatics can be worse than the other. Resolved, right?
And that's just scratching the surface. I sometimes think that's why some like to take the stance of superiority in the pose of non-bias or 2 wrongs make a who cares. Any similarity makes everything become the same, right? Except it doesn't. I sometimes suspect those who suggest that might be afraid of what they're going to discover when the scales of what harm is actually done by whom are measured.
