DrCaleb DrCaleb: BartSimpson BartSimpson: We had a Presidential election that posed no threat to Canada yet your government went out of its way to insult, demean, and taunt candidate Trump and then President Trump.
Quotes, or it didn't happen. We can start with PM virtue signaling when pussygate first started. 'As a feminist, I can blah blah.. so it's pretty obvious who I prefer as President'. Paraphrase but gist. Actually we should start with Obama sending his 2012 election advisers up to Canada to help PM Gropey in 2015.

Prof_Chomsky Prof_Chomsky: raydan raydan: I've always thought that we should distance ourselves from our southern neighbours, at least economically and now more than ever. As the saying goes, don't anchor yourself to a sinking ship. ![Scared Door [door]](./images/smilies/aaa.gif) Yup. The time has come to move toward Europe. They want and need our resources and if the USA is intent on being a bunch of twats I say "fantastic". Now we have an excuse to stop being infected by their BS politics, gun/media culture and destruction of the middle class. This, plus I'd add in a major move towards China and Japan too. We're not going to get past the Japanese protectionism on finished goods but there's no reason we shouldn't make moves towards a massive increase in raw resource exports for both of the Eastern giants. Toss in India too if there's potential there to make up for whatever is going to be lost due to Trump's eternal temper tantrum against us. If it makes up for whatever's lost due to America's foolishness then so much the better. $1: What I really don't get is, even if Trump "thinks" we have no choice but to kowtow to their insane demands or they'll "destroy us" economically, he must know that we can never ever give in. Otherwise we tell the world we are open to be raped financially. We're infinitely better off eating whatever economic losses come from standing our ground, then rebuilding with more stable countries that don't have crazies in charge. Not that it will ever happen anyway. Trump loses congress and the senate if he screws over Canada. And once the next election happens anyway, congress is going to want a return to NAFTA. Time for a lame duck. Depends. The Democrats are past the point of being ineffectual on practically everything, and the GOP are too scared of pissing of the MAGA mob to ever stand up to Trump. Even these pseudo-tough guys like Sasse, Corker, and Flake that talk a good anti-Trump game end up voting ninety percent of the time for what the SOB wants. Congress doesn't lead any more, it just follows what the crazies want. There is no way in hell that the US, either at the political level or even the average angry citizen, is ever going to take responsibility for the basic reality that every single one of their economic woes is simply because of the post-Reagan pro-anarcho-capitalism and pro-financial sector plutocracy they've allowed to be created over the last thirty-five years. It's a mirror they absolutely refuse to ever look into because it'll reveal that all the guilt for the destruction of their own working- and middle-classes rests with themselves. As such expect an asshole like Trump to perpetually get away with blaming Canada, or Mexico, or whoever else is an easy target for their ginned-up gimmicky wrath because no one in America (not Congress, not the media, and certainly not the voters) are every going to admit that what's happened to them is their own damn fault. The blame game isn't just easy, it's also addictive and effectively impossible to give up when it becomes the default excuse for not fixing their own problems.

Coach85 Coach85: The least popular President in the history of your Country. It's harder to drop lower than he already is....but he will prosper, and drop further. Carter and then Truman were less popular than Trump in mainstream media polling. And I'll remind you that the same MSM polls that tell you how unpopular he is also told you he was five to ten points behind Hillary going into the election.

"insult, demean, and taunt" Would PM Milk-Money's queen of the SJWs qualify there? $1: SASKATOON — Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says Chrystia Freeland’s participation in a panel that lumped American President Donald Trump in with dictators like Bashar al-Assad was appropriate – despite the fact she’s in the midst of trade talks with the United States.
On Monday, ahead of resumed trade talks with U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer, Freeland spoke on a panel in Toronto titled Taking on the tyrant hosted by the Women in the World Canada summit.
An opening montage for the panel said the world faces a “historic threat” from a “global tide of populism” and the “rise of autocrats.” The video then featured Trump in a reel alongside the likes of Syria’s Bashir Assad, Russia’s Vladimir Putin and The Philippines’ Rodrigo Duterte... https://ipolitics.ca/2018/09/13/trudeau ... autocrats/

It is amazing how Trump just keeps sticking to his 300% duty on dairy bullshit. The whole sector is insignificant to the trade balance, so it would be a tiny victory for the US but a major blow to Canada. That's what he wants. Some 'showmanship' that makes it look like he won a major concession. Economics don't matter, diplomacy don't matter. Only the show itself.

$1: "Members are concerned that Canada does not seem to be ready or willing to make the concessions that are necessary for a fair and high-standard agreement. While we would all like to see Canada remain part of this three-country coalition, there is not an unlimited amount of time for it to be part of this new agreement," Scalise said. Translation: Bend over and take it in the ass or you're out. Get your nose out of Trump's ass before you catch something Scalise.

'As a feminist, I can blah blah.. so it's pretty obvious who I prefer as President'.
Paraphrase but gist. Quote, not paraphrase. With link. $1: OTTAWA – Prime Minister Justin Trudeau — a self-described feminist — refused Thursday to condemn Donald Trump’s bad behaviour toward women.
Instead, Trudeau reminded reporters of his own actions when it comes to standing up against sexual aggressors in support of women.
“I think, however, that I have been very, very clear in my approach as a feminist, as someone who has stood thoroughly and strongly all my life around issues of sexual harassment, standing against violence against women, that I don’t need to make any further comment at this time,” Trudeau said at a Parliament Hill press conference held jointly with Prime Minister Manuel Valls of France.
Most notably, Trudeau, in early 2015, tossed two male MPs from his caucus on allegations that both made unwanted sexual advances against female MPs that were not in the Liberal caucus.
Valls, speaking to reporters at France’s embassy in Ottawa, said U.S. President Barack Obama was “elected by the world” and that “Trump is rejected by the world.”
The New York Times reported Thursday that two women had accused Trump of unwanted sexual advances, accusations the Trump campaign called fiction. Others have come forward as well after an audio tape emerged last week of Trump, years ago, boasting about how he got away with unwanted sexual advances.
“As a French political leader, I obviously hope Hillary Clinton will be elected president,” Valls said.
Trudeau, when asked if he agreed with Valls, maintained his neutral stance on Trump versus Clinton.
“I’ve said many times that I will work with whomever the American people elect to be their president.” https://nationalpost.com/news/politics/ ... -behaviourYup, no open condemnation, but a backhand slap nonetheless. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/po ... e32610296/Trudeau sought audience with Clinton before election, e-mails show Podesta emails good for something. martin14 martin14: Actually we should start with Obama sending his 2012 election advisers up to Canada to help PM Gropey in 2015. $1: Does not back up what Bart posted. https://www.thestar.com/news/canada/201 ... nning.htmlhttps://torontosun.com/2015/03/25/obama ... 32815a5779https://nationalpost.com/opinion/justin ... e-politicsit goes on and on....
