It's interesting that "being legal" is the barometer not "Not being treated like a second class citizen".

We won't literally throw you in jail for being who you are, isn't that good enough?

I get the the early parades, the ones in the years after the infamous Stonewall Raid, but that was 50(?) years ago. Sure Homosexuality is still outlawed in many nations, but in Canada and most of the west it's legal... so why protest parade here? People are getting tired of this being shoved in our faces and it really its starting to show; as that article from USA Today I posted in another topic.

The more they flaunt this, the more people will sour to the idea. I don't care what you do in the bedroom, why do I need to see what you do in the bedroom? I'm just happy imagining that everyone just goes and sleeps in the bedroom. I not interested in what your kink is. Really I'm not.

All this being said, a straight pride parade is equally stupid. See above for my reasons.

I am really at my wits end with this species.

My thoughts exactly.

We live in an extremely tolerant world now. Personal freedom that doesn't hurt others is the norm. But no one wants someone else's lifestyle constantly forced into their view. Gay rights won. Woman's rights won. Know when to call it a day. When someone wins at any game, then proceeds to rub everyone'e nose in the fact they had a victory, no matter how well deserved it was, people sour to it. My kids don't have any clue what racism, sexism, or homophobia is. It's just normal to them now. But they can't understand why a parade full of half dressed people in various bondage and other attire thrusts around once a year and we're supposed to applaud it.

Well sense you asked. My latest bedroom kink is laying in bed listening to an audio book. When I feel sleepy I turn it off and lay in bed for 2-3 hours before I actually fall asleep. A big hurrah for insomnia kinks. [B-o]

I can't agree with this more. Personally, I don't give a rat's ass what someone's sexual orientation is, nor do I give a damn what they do behind closed doors. If it makes you happy, then that's great.

The issue is, like Llama has stated above, is that 'Pride' has become a giant piece of nonsense that gets shoved down everyone else's throats 24/7, and it's too much! 'Pride' used to have a weekend and a parade. Then it morphed into 'Pride Week'. Then it morphed into 'Pride Month', with so many companies promoting it (mainly because they've been intimidated into doing so) endlessly.

A local member of the gay community here in Barrie recently complained that because the only gay bar closed down years back, there was 'no safe space for gays to go' and that he 'was afraid of crossing the street'. Give us a break! I saw a news article over a year ago in which two homosexuals in Saudi Arabia were rounded up by a gang, tied to chairs, and thrown off a 10-story building. One survived the fall, and was capped by one of the group that was carrying a pistol.

Here in the West, people don't really give a damn if your gay or not, as long as it doesn't infringe on them personally.

There is a lesbian couple that go to my gym a few times a week. They just started their memberships a couple of months ago, and when they first came in, they would hold hands during their workouts. Okay, fine. Whatever. But in the last few weeks, they make out at every machine they use, and even sit on each other and dry hump (no, they are not that good looking, from a guy's standpoint).

Yet, if anyone were to complain, we'd probably lose our gym membership because this is how it is now. No one can anything about anything anymore for fear of reprisal. It's gotten to the point that just for asking someone to stop that politely, you can more than likely end up being labelled as a 'homophobe' and possibly lose your job.

What does this say about society as a whole now?

I believe in peaceful coexistence, to a point. Where does it say that everyone else's beliefs can supercede mine? I thought we had equal rights in this country. Clearly, that's not the case anymore.

-J.

DrCaleb DrCaleb:
This will be the most boring parade ever invented.

No, all the snowflakes, degenerates, and deviants who show up to protest the normal people will surely entertain us.

Question... is anybody here proud of being straight? :?

I am. I'm straight, I'm an American, I'm a Marine, I have a hot wife who is also straight, and we're pretty damned happy...what's not to be proud of?

And what you're saying here is what Vladimir Putin meant recently when he said that 'liberalism is dying' (paraphrased).

I'm far more libertarian than I am conservative and had I been around in the 1970's I would have stood with the folks at Stonewall. I still stand for and support gay kids who get mindlessly bullied in school.

But anymore the bullies are the queers (or whatever the hell they call themselves now) and after seeing them attacking another gay man in Portland this last week it's pretty clear that they have morphed from being the oppressed into becoming the oppressors.

These people are a minority. They always will be.

And they are provoking the majority with their antics and along with the rest of the left they are forcing a confrontation that they think they can win.

I don't think they realize what they're up against and if the majority starts to fight back then it'll be another two or three thousand years before anyone dares to mention 'gay rights' again.

They really need to back off before some very dark options become preferable for the majority.

I've never found dirty audio books. :?

EDIT: So that got me thinking and I thought that maybe there are naughty audio books... Google is your friend. You can find them at Amazon.
