I'd go with the Scientists view on this. It may not be "Preserved", but the DNA of Dinos was probably the same construct as ours and because of that tweaking current DNA probably can bring them back. I know very little on this subject though.
There's a shit load of bad research around. The tech bubble, after all, was a trillion dollars of bad research and development ideas. I have a substantial suspicion of so called scientists. A scientist seeking publicity for the sake of funding is suspect.
