A herd of about 30 live on CFB Esquimalt. Another 20 or so moved into the forest across from the base. Now they live around my house year round.

Trouble is they don't stay in the fields. They seem to me magically drawn to my truck at night. I'd rather deal with livestock loose on the highway than deer.

I have deer at the lakeside cottage, and I feed them apples, which they seem to really enjoy. Lately, we've had quite a few black bears; they're very hungry and are coming closer to civilization. I hope none of them get shot.

Get a bow with a red light.
Set out some feed, get them into a habit of comming around then harvest a couple in the early morning.
