Toro Toro:
$1:
- In Saskatchewan/Manitoba, the Tories are ahead at 66 per cent, while the Liberals have 18 per cent and NDP has 13 per cent.

As someone originally from Saskatchewan, this just shocks me. The Tories lead by the most in these two provinces. What has happened to the federal NDP in Saskatchewan and Manitoba?

Maybe the farming community finally got tired of the Dippers turning their backs on one of their original support pillars in favour or other demographics like the enviro-tards. I have no idea why farmers or manufacturing workers even supported the Dips for as long as they did considering it's not exactly a new thing for the Dip leadership to abandon long-time supporters for other newer ones that are more trendy in a leftist-flavour-of-the-minute sort of sense.

Who knows? All I know right now is that Taliban Jack is going to turn out to be the dumbest of the opposition leaders for going along with this un-necessary election nonsense. I've got a weird vibe happening that's telling me the NDP, maybe even moreso than the Liberals, are going to get absolutely slaughtered on voting day, maybe even to the point of once again losing official party status in the House. One can only hope anyway.

Iggy's ego strikes again! He just can't believe in someone not voting for him...but guess what? What a blunder, and the lib caucus supports him? Just goes to show the state of the liberal party these days.

The thing of it is, I don't think the Liberal caucus supports him. I think he runs his own show, as do many leaders including Harper. He did the "Mr. Harper, your time is up" in September of 2009 without consulting the caucus and he didn't learn. I think the guy is a professor bird, not suitable for leadership. He's promised the world, people say Liberal politicians talk that way, but I think it's more like bird calls rather than strategy. He's pretty bad, that's what your looking at.

I wouldn't necessarily say it's Iggy himself, I think the higher ups and the strategists in the party are driving this bus. That was somewhat noticeable with Dion and I think it may be the same type of situation here. Kind of a "OK you've been the leader for this long, where are the results" type of thinking and I don't think party as a whole necessarily listens to the caucus and ground level MP's on these types of issues. There's proably a lot of pressure on him to get results.

I don't think that's true at all. Iggy has shown that he will listen to the party even when it disagrees with his own views. When he took over I was pretty well convinced that I would never vote for the Liberals as long as he was leader. I'll still probably vote for Pat Martin this time, but I'm thinking of renewing my Liberal membership now that he's actually spoken out against American DMCA "digital locks", and mandatory minimum sentences that Harper is proposing. He was in favour of both not so long ago, and it took a lot of letters from disgruntled Liberals to change his mind.

Well, I call myself an activist and have letter campaigns going all the time. I have several leaks from Liberal MPs that Ignatieff doesn't listen to them what so ever. I'm pretty sure it's good information.

I seriously wonder what Iggy was thinking when he triggered this? This could be worse for liberals, as he may have handed the country to a conservative majority.

Does he have a trick up his sleeve, or did he just decide to give it a shot, short of saying "fuck it, let's just do it!". He seems unprepared.

This is Iggy's last Hurrah !

He's got to win this one or its mutiny on the Bounty time.

Mutiny on the Bounty has already started. They plan on throwing Iggy under the bus on May 3rd right after he takes a beating. Bob Rae will become the new leader and join forces with Jack Layton. The NDP will be the government! 8O

Canada could be royally screwed!

Even if the Liberals did join forces with the NDP, they would still lack the seats to boot the Conservatives out.

It would have to be some kind of "three way" with the Bloc.
