$1: Mr. May's regularly updated list is available on his website, PoliTwitter.ca, created two years ago to track federal politicians on the social networking site. This is really neat. Thanks for doing this Trev.

CDN_PATRIOT CDN_PATRIOT: kenmore kenmore: The liberals are coming up because they are telling people what they want to do and explaing it. Harper's majority just gets more illusive each day. The conservatives need to take a look at a new leader! Wow. Your REALLY on the hallucinogens. Harper's majority isn't out of reach at all, and unlike the Liberals, he is not being undermined by everyone in his party due to a lack of leadership. Harper is soild. Iggy is on borrowed time. He'll get crushed in the polls, and the Looney Left will get pushed further into obscurity. -J. Its your delusion stick to it!

I can freely admit that my party leader does indeed possess some flaws, as do most of us. But you seem to think that Mr. Ignatieff is the perfect human being, a man without flaws per se. The propaganda has you so brainwashed, you can't even step back for a second to admit these failings, instead carrying on like a little kid who cries out for attention. I honestly and truly feel sorry for you, Ken. Please get well soon. -J.

I never said M. Ignatieff was perfect. He is just better. More educated, better speaker, great debater and well respected world wide. Harper on the other hand.... well you know his resumé, dismal to say the least

WTG Trev! ![Drink up [B-o]](./images/smilies/drinkup.gif) Actually, Harper continues to shit the bed; doing what he can to fuck himself out of a majority. Whether its his pathetic media scrums, his wussing out on the one on one debate that he threw down on yesterday, or the endless use of the bullshit coalition scare tactic to cover up any of his failing platform points, Harper will not likely squeeze out a majority, and as a CPC voter I say good. "Who will rid me of this meddlesome PM?" Hopefull yet another minority will.

Well according to politwitter, the most popualr item so far has been Iggy's Canadian Learning Passport - which is bad news for everyone else.
If the Libs can get youth out to vote for them, then they have a real chance of gaining some ground (or even having a minority government themselves).

If he keeps popping out policy positions like this he has a chance of winning. So far Harper seems to want to coast to Victory, although he likely has some policy papers waiting to be released when needed.

If it turns into a Liberal minority, chances are the next election will be Iggy against MacKay.

MacKay gets bad press but I think he'd be fine, am optimistic that he'd be competent.

MacKay comes off too much like a frat boy. I'd have trouble taking him seriously as a leader, at least at this point.

There's a couple of other senior Conservatives that speak French, but I can't tell you even their names. The potential pool is pretty thin. If MacKay stuck to his knitting, didn't do anything fancy and was just competent, it'd be an improvement.

I don't want ANY majority. Hopefully, we can get a liberal minority, or a conservative minority. It keeps both parties in check by each other, and the NDP and the BQ can also keep them in check. It creates a fine balance where we don't swing too far left or too far right, while squeezing centrist legislation.
Minority governments are like divorced parents, they both fight for their children's attention by spoiling them more. Sometimes they even break their principles to keep their children happy. You think the Cons would have been so quick to defend Canadians against the Rogers/Bell usage billing fiasco had they had their coveted majority? Hell no. They would have defended their corporate interests.

The alternative is a leader that reads the polls before making a decision, editing them for cost. I read a line in The Economist magazine that such leaders were rare. It doesn't make sense but most leaders have their own agenda.

Ignatieff has made several promises so far and costed them out. However there is still a structural deficit in Ottawa and he is short of saying how the promises will be funded. Costed maybe, funded no. They call the professor Silvertongue. He's trying out a style on the national stage.
