I wonder if the deployed soldiers are part of the calculation? Even a fatality rate of 6 per 3,000 (a rotation) for instance would result a fatality rate of 198/100,000 and some roto's had a much higher number. As well, not one of those fatalities in the table is the result of someone deliberately looking to kill them.
It's so hard to get stats that can convey the whole picture.
