Scape Scape:
That's not the context here. The fact that they can carry is not the issue at all. The fact that they are telling everyone to show up armed is and making public displays making sure everyone who is going knows there is going to be armed participants.

You can carry a gun but the only reason to broadcast that fact is to intimidate.

Who is advocating that everyone show up armed?

There are thousands of reasons to "broadcast" the fact that you are armed. Try not to impune the motivations of law-abiding citizens without some serious evidence.

Wow, how many people think civil war if one gun accidently misfires.

We can only hope!

A little classless there. You could make a legitimate point about gun safety without hoping for accidental injuries and deaths.

I could, but since when did Americans every worry about accidential injuries and deaths in a war zone?

The Klan didn't block the door or prevent them from voting, they just stood there on public property, which is their right, wearing their KKK bedsheets which is also their right and said "hello" to all the black people walking by.

"Hey boy, I've seen you around town before, haven't I? Your family lives over on maple street don't they boy? You work over at the mill don't you boy? Hey, its gonna be dark soon, hope you get home safe!"

Same thing for these teabaggers showing up armed to these rallys.

Bull. Voter intimidation is a crime. Just because you don't understand why they consider the right to bear arms to be important doesn't make them criminals. All I see is a bunch of people trying to impune the motives of honest American citizens without any justification. Find one of them making a statement advocating a crime like those being described here, and I will join you in criticizing their motivation, but until then all this is slanderous garbage.

...sure, "honest" but stupid. And the teabag executive that stages these events loves the escalating tension. They want the healthhcare "dialogue" to dissolve into chaos. In ANY country when your party's not in power, chaos is good, it makes the party goverment either look responsible or impotent to stop it. More people bringing guns to the demonstration will either escalate the situation or scare the "union thugs" away.

tell that to Toronto or Calgary or Vancouver..how many drive by's are we up to now?

Im in toronto and nobody here feels unsafe without a gun. Besides most of the shootings here (still a fraction of what a US city of similar size has) are between people who know eachother, ie drug deals gone bad, gang grudges etc. If you're not a part of that world, you have nothing to fear.

The level of pure intellectual dishonesty on this thread is appalling, even by internet standards. I've run across a lot of stuff over the years that's left me totally disgusted but this bullshit has got to be the worst.

Why don't you people who think that carrying heat to an appearance by the President just admit the one thing that you all believe but are too gutless to say out loud: you refuse to accept that you lost the 2008 election to a FUCKING NIGGER, you won't tolerate it, and that you're going to kill him to get the power back in your own hands.

Quit lying about what you really want. You all want to see this man dead. Just grow a pair and fucking admit it already.

The results of a democratic election are going to be negated first by intimidation and threats of violence, and then by assassination.

Don't post any more rants against Hugo Chavez while you're defending those in the US who are attempting to do the exact same fucking thing.
