The reports are that there are no American fatalities. They are saying that Iran may have intentionally missed our troops. They showed that they are willing to retaliate, yet caused no American deaths. Maybe this thing has not gone over the cliff yet. Fingers crossed!

Hopefully that is true.

However, if there have been fatalities I can understand why there would not be any confirmation of this yet.

Trump says Iran appears to be "standing down". As he's typically wrong or lying at least 100% of the time this probably means the nearest US aircraft carrier group in the immediate area can expect a bombardment of anti-ship missiles to head their way any minute now.

A Face-Saving Gesture from the Ayatollahs


In foreign policy, and during fogs of war, signaling is everything. Consider the recent Indian – Pakistani crisis, where both powers bombed the other’s territory. In one of the key factors, both targeted regions and bases with zero casualties.

The Iranian attack seems to follow the same modus operandi. When the strikes happened, I noted on Twitter that given the number of missiles in a volley, it is unlikely that this was a precursor for a greater assault. The largest operational Iranian missiles can reach Haifa, Saudi oil factories, or even Poland and India, given their range.

But it was curious that a mere ten missiles dropped dumb pay loads in a U.S. base where the majority of the soldiers were Iraqi. That meant the mission was strictly targeted for a domestic audience and regime stability. Within hours, confirmations started to pour in.

The attacks were, Iranian officials said on Twitter, a response to America's hit on Terror General Qasem Soleimani. President Trump's measured response to the attacks proves once again that it's a blessing for America and for the rest of the world that he is the one in the White House, and not that Democrat warmonger Hillary Clinton.

Although the leftist mainstream media do everything in their power to portray Trump as some kind of bloodthirsty wannabe tyrant, the opposite is true. If he did indeed want to go to war with Iran, last night's attacks more than gave him the excuse to do so. He could've immediately ordered the U.S. military to strike back -- to target Iran's military infrastructure in an attempt to weaken the Mad Mullah's military before unleashing all hell on them.

Instead, Trump announced on Twitter that "All is well! Missiles launched from Iran at two military bases located in Iraq. Assessment of casualties & damages taking place now. So far, so good! We have the most powerful and well equipped military anywhere in the world, by far! I will be making a statement tomorrow morning."

Contrast this response to Hillary Clinton's summary of American carnage in Libya when she was Secretary of State: "We came, we saw, he [Muammer Qaddafi] died."
