Hopefully they'll be OK. Terrible thing to happen to those caught in the crossfire in a situation that the current American plutocrat leadership has deliberately stoked up. Which is a hell of a lot more than some of the right-wingers here could be bothered to say about Heather Heyer when a Nazi plowed a vehicle into a crowd and killed her in Charlottesville. Or for anyone else who ever ended up on the receiving end of extreme violence dealt out by the hands of some very fine people domestic terrorists.

People aren't posting here out of hate, but anger at how this man was treated. He may not have been a model citizen, but that doesn't mean he deserved that death.

If Trump invokes the Insurrection Act, I fear the outcome. No President has ever invoked that, not even during the '60s with the unrest was as bad as it is now. He should be calling for calm, not drumming up support for more violence. I hope the American voter remembers this come November.

As Trump spoke, an incredible TV split screen developed around the White House. While he addressed the nation in the White House's idyllic Rose Garden, a series of military vehicles rolled out front on Pennsylvania Avenue and military police and law enforcement clashed with protesters at Lafayette Park.

They did not "clash" the police and military police rushed at them and the peaceful (law abiding) protesters ran a block or so as they were being shot by rubber bullets and tear gassed. Trump a few minutes later in his speech declared that he supported peaceful protester.
