Really? We had scallops a couple times a month in Cornwallis....I hate scallops. We did our cross country run up Suicide Hill out four miles and then back four. I didn't think it was that bad. It was just the hurry up and wait that was annoying. I don't really remember being hurried to eat either, like some mention. I usually skipped breakfast, or had someone smuggle some fruit back....always had a secret stash of chocolate though.

Oh it is BS alright. Silly move by whomever approved this. Perception is reality. That said, I stand by my original statement. Some of us in uniform and Harper can do nothing right according to a loud minority.

Trying to pander to the likes of the Star, CBC and Globe is a wasted effort. They will always find something bad to say.

Pendulum effect... nothing more. Only a few years back, mid-Afghanistan, the military could do no wrong. We're done in the sandbox, back to home and duty in the middle of a potential small d Depression, suffering from the horrendous procurement mismanagement stories that continue to build, money mismanagement stories that continue to come to light which means that when these cheeky little stunts have the media light shined upon them and we all look bad.

Frankly, I find no sympathy for the guys who did this, but I do have a lot of anger for the military and political leadership that have led us to this current relationship with the media and public. The military is coming off buffoonish and these little stunts only add fuel to the fire.

Hey middle management do your part and knock it off!

That about hits the nail on the head.
