they have him on tape as he is walking into the house saying nothing was offered what more do you want ?
if he was capable of voting in budget how could his judgement be in question ?

To vote you just have to be able to stand on your feet, you don't even need to have your eyes looking yet into this world.

HAHA. Sorry Derby.
I guess those guys who visited Cadman were just some more of those "rogue bureaucrats" that were so popular during ADSCAM.

His widow stands by her story.

Sorry for your luck.

did you listen to her interview?

Yes. I voted twice for Cadman.
Cadman also came out and said that his vote was unnafected and no one made offers to him.

How convenient is it that this story revolves around some one who has passed away and can't be questioned. Cadman himself denied the allegations when he was alive, isn’t that enough? I am so sick of these bullshit stories and allegations trying to paint Harper as corrupt. If they have proof then lets see it! Oh I forgot, the guy is dead so I guess we'll never really know. I’m starting to think Dion is aspiring to be the next Scooby Doo. If the man spent half the time he does on running his party as he does on trying to dig up dirt on Harper maybe his party wouldn’t in the sad state it is. Simply pathetic.

Dion has nothing at all to do with it.

Its his widow that the evidence comes from, evidence that greatly exceeds whatever BS you cons tried to pin on Chretien or Martin.

Liberal Leader Stephane Dion asks Harper about the allegations that party agents offered inducements to Chuck Cadman before a vote that could have toppled the former Liberal government in May 2005, during question period in Ottawa on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008. (Tom Hanson / THE CANADIAN PRESS)

Maybe Dion should have waited to find out the facts before he got up in commons then.

He did. Donna Cadman stands by her story.

And Cadman himself denied the allegations when he was alive. Now say what you want but I don't think Cadman was the kind of guy who have denied the allegations if they were true. He had nothing to gain by denying them and but could have gain a lot had he said they were true.

The explosive allegations have been levelled in an upcoming book by Vancouver journalist Tom Zytaruk. CTV British Columbia's Janet Dirks spoke about the controversy with Cadman by phone on Thursday. Here is the transcript of the conversation.

Dona Cadman: Hello?

Janet Dirks: Yes, may I speak with Dona Cadman, please. It's CTV calling.

DC: Speaking

JD: Hi, Mrs. Cadman. It's Janet Dirks. I'm a reporter with CTV and I'm just following up the story that was in the Globe and Mail today about your late husband and the offer that was made to him before that critical vote in 2005. I wonder if I can ask you a couple of questions.

DC: Sure.

JD: Can I ask you - because it's going to be in this book that's going to be coming up in March and we're going to speak to the author later. Can I ask you what your husband told you about that visit before that critical vote.

DC: Oh, just that that (two?) gentlemen had visited him and offered him a million-dollar life insurance policy and a few other things.

JD: A few other things such as?

DC: One was being welcomed back into the Conservative Party

JD: Were you surprised by that story?

DC: No, not really. It was something .. they were ... I think any party would have done.

JD: And what did he say to them when they made him this offer.

DC: Oh, he was angry.

JD: And he told you about it that night or?

DC: Uh huh. When he came home.

JD: Did he ever show you any documents or were there any papers shown to him

DC: No. There were papers shown to him, but they were taken with them.

JD: I guess .. It's just such an interesting story in that your husband had cancer and they were offering him allegedly a million-dollar life insurance policy. How could that even work?

DC: Yeah, I don't know.

JD: Can I also ask you, you're running for the Tories now. Does this put you in an awkward situation in terms of the party and this allegation.

DC: A little. Yes.

JD: Have you spoken with the prime minister about it?

DC: I talked to his office today.

JD: And what was said, if you don't mind me asking.

DC: Just that they were going to bring out a press release.

JD: I'm trying to understand. Do you denounce what was offered to your husband? Or you said earlier that you understood it in a way?

DC: Yeah, I do.

JD: How angry does it make you, or does it?

DC: Not as much as it did before.

JD: Why is that?

DC: I think, just time passed.

JD: Would you consider it a bribe, madam?

DC: Um, yes, in a way.

JD: And you told the author this story?

DC: Uh huh.

JD: How much regret do you have in telling that story in light of the fact you're running for the Tories?

DC: None.

JD: OK.

JD: And would it be possible to speak to you on camera?

DC: No.

JD: And why is that?

DC: I just don't feel comfortable with it. I don't mind talking to you over the phone, but not on camera.

JD: OK.

DC: OK?

JD: Thank you very much.

DC: OK.

JD: Bye bye.

DC: Bye bye.

No it's not enough, Cadman was sick when he denied.

but he still did deny the allegations , that cannot be denied . so how can they prove he was offered anything illegal if he denied he was offered anything ?

By having an expert witness testify on the effects of the drugs he was probably taking on judgment.

you don't think , an otherwise low profile book that is suddenly on every news station just before its release . sounds like a way to cook up sales . and make the author money .

he clearly knew what he was doing when he voted , don't give us this nonesense . he was still an able person who was alert and aware .

Well now.

Then all you cons agree that Chretien and Martin are completely innocent of everything ever accused of.

BTW, I believe what a man told his wife. What her motivations are unknown. Perhaps she wants to discredit Harper for her own reasons.

Regardless, the bribe attempt happened and you cons will just have to suck it up.

Speaking, via the Internet, on what has been playfully dubbed the "Cadman Cam," the British Columbia MP said he is carefully monitoring his health ahead of the big vote.

"I have to be conscious of my health and not push myself too hard," said Cadman.

And still, he told Duffy on Monday night, he has every intention of making it to the vote.

Prime Minister Paul Martin has said if his government loses the budget vote, he will ask that Parliament be dissolved and an election be called immediately.

On Saturday, Cadman was supposed to have tea with Liberal cabinet minister and fellow B.C. MP Ujjal Dosanjh, but the meeting was cancelled.

Cadman blamed the media circus outside his home for the change of plans.

However, he said he has still not made up his mind on whether he will support the Conservatives and the Bloc Quebecois -- or whether he'll side with the Liberals and the NDP.

He told Duffy he is waiting to make sure he has all the information he needs.

"There is a poll going on in (my) riding right now, as far as I know...and I am waiting for the results of that," he said.

"That will be a part of it, I'm not saying everything is going to be based on that, but that will certainly form a part of it because especially as an independent, I feel I have a major obligation to my constituents."

Cadman is one of three wild-card Independent MPs whose votes could make or break the minority government.

So who else did MP Ujjal Dosanjh visit while he was there..
Oh yeah. MP-Gremont Grewal who taped Dosanjh offering him a cabinate post to change sides. Hmm..
It's also frightening that Paul martin wrote the foreward on the book. If that's not a big red flag, you didn't know Cadman.

she souldn't be giving interviews like this ,in the first place . and still her claiming it happened is not proof . she has no copies of the allegated contract or name of company ? giving life insurance to ill man who would of not qualified for any policy .
it all lacks solid proof and hard evidence .

and fact her husband denied it when he was alive makes it even tougher to prove it even happened

not sure but without solid evidence or copy of this insurance policy , what judge , jury or inquiry is ever going to believe this story ?
just cause they had a meeting is not illegal even offering him to rejoin party is not illegal, so what can they prove was illegal ?

honestly it lacks proof and can not ever be proven in court .
