bootlegga bootlegga:
After dealing with crappy service from Telus for several years, I switched to Shaw and haven't looked back. Their customer service out here is light years ahead of Telus in every way and they charge way less. I wish they offered cell service just so I could compare.

It's coming. :D

This brave soldier has his life on the line for the entire country, and Rogers won't stay the contract until he returns?? Total B.S. man. The fact that he could get blown up or shot, while the average Rogers customer service employee has worries like papercuts or how full the water cooler is, is lost on them and some of you guys. HE'S A FREAKIN SOLDIER DEFENDING THE COUNTRY!! Make an exception for this!
If soldiers like this brave man hadn't gone to war for their country, there would be no Rogers to make money off the rest of us because there wouldn't be much of a country!

Let's see a Rogers employee pick up a gun and go fight. They'd scream before they even got on the plane. Soldiers are built from more sterner stuff than most of us.

Largest problem I have with your quote is this "If soldiers like this brave man hadn't gone to war for their country." We know jack shit about this guy, he could be total shit pump, just because he wears Cadpat does not make him brave nor a hero. He signed the cell contract, he is obligated to pay up. It would be the same if he had child support payments, utility payments or rent. There is a reason they get paid so much for going there is partly due to stuff like this.

Let me say again, can you people please stop with the friggin hero worship "Soldiers are built from more sterner stuff than most of us." The CF does have its fair share of professional soldiers, but for the most part they are not made of any 'sterner stuff' than any other government employee. Especially reservists XD

I hate hate hate the established telephone companies (regardless of where you are). In Manitoba its MTS. And they rule like they own everything. I'm in a rural area so of course we're screwed over. We have our internet with a local cable company, my cell is with Rogers (don't like my contract...), and our television with Bell. Bell satellite tv has actually been pretty damn good. Can't complain there. MTS telephone service is a rip off, and once our local cable company rolls out home phone service in our town we'll be ridding ourselves of MTS completely.

When I move to Vancouver, I want an iPhone which, so I think I'm probably going to go with Fido.

kitty kitty:
i tried unsuccessfully to have a problem i was having with Rogers resolved. At the end of my week long battle i called to cancel my contract and thats when they all of a sudden wanted to help me. I flatly refused to listen at that point and told them that the $200 fee that it cost me would be the best money i ever spent.

That's really strange, I've been with Rogers since day 1, I figure that's
been about 8-9 years now. I've found the service with them to be excellent, talking to one of their reps about a problem, she asked if there was anything else she could do for me. Being a wiseass I said yeah, you can lower my rates. She put me on hold for a couple minutes then came back and said, with my record of on time payments and being a long time customer they were going to drop my rate by $10.00 per month. That was over 3 years ago and I still get a $10 discount on every bill.

Mr_Canada Mr_Canada:
Benn Benn:
Lack of competition really isn't the point though. They sign a contract they stick to it or find another company, there are more than one, if they don't like any contracts then don't use a cell phone, it is possible to live without them if one is so disgusted.

And you can be an out-casted stubborn jerk just like me, :D , but it's one less thing for your paycheque to disappear into.

LOL

I have a pay as you go for when I go on road trips for safety and the very odd time I find a reason to need one in town. So each time I need it I charge it with like $10. I pay about $50 a year. Other than that I have no need to yap with people on the phone. They can leave a message at my house and I'll call them back there. Strangely I seem to manage and function as well as anyone with a phone implanted up their butts full time. I'm referring to personal use, they certainly have a place as a business tool. Granted the government hands them out like candy to workers who don't need them.

I'll admit I know nothing about rural service. Can't you get phone card / pay as you go service in rural areas?

Nuggie77 Nuggie77:
I never got away without paying my bills when I was deployed, why should this guy? Just another example of some people in the military that think everything should be handed to them. I'm sure you've all seen them before.

Yeah, everything should just be handed to the guys who go in harm's way.

Oh, wait. That's assuming they have hands when they get out of the service.

Oh, bullshit comment Bart.

This kid is whining because he knows he can pull heart strings in this country by making the big bad company look like a heal.

If he was so concerned about this, he should not have signed on to go. He's a Reservist, they can come and go as they please.

He put his name on the contract. Rogers was in no way in breach of the contract that he signed. He pays his fucking bills, just like the rest of us. End story, full stop.
