It all happens in a vaccum. Just like when the atomic bombings of Japan are condemned without the accuser mentioning that Japan was still in a state of war, refused to surrender, and afterwards was credibly determined to be responsible for upwards of 20 million (mostly civilian deaths) in Asia and across the Pacific.

I don't support Likud's political tactics or the control they have in Washington DC. That being said Israel has every right to defend itself against the lunatics that have been trying to destroy it for almost 70 years.

It's clear why it expands its territory - to get more of it. Taking territory certainly is no way to get peace. If it was to create a buffer zone it wouldn't create the patchwork it has, and a buffer zone would mean no civilians would live there, otherwise you just have the same situation as before. Israel is practicing lebensraum, pure and simple.

And you don't celebrate the beginning of Unions? You want to go back to "the good old days?"
And like I have stated in the past, Israel has a right to exist! Palestinians also have a right to exist! What to do about this mess? I just don't know.

Don't feel bad, you're not the only one. Seems to me, Israel needs to quit giving Palestinians an excuse for attacks. Taking Palestinian land (ie settlements) by military threat is no different than an actual attack - both are acts of war. Close the settlements. Recognize Palestine's right to exist the way Palestine has recognized Israel. Then treat any attacks by Palestine as an act of war, invade with troops/bomb as necessary, just keep the settlers out so Palestinians see that if they stop attacking, they get to keep their bit of land. That only leaves Jerusalem... I say give it to the Dalai Lama to administer.

People will deride this idea, but what's the alternative? Israel is busy creating Bantustans. It will never have peace that way and continue to be an international pariah. Just keeps the situation festering. If Israel annexes the whole West Bank, all of a sudden they have several million more Palestinians living in Israel and out breeding the Jews. Either they deny them rights of citizenship, ie apartheid again, or they get outnumbered. Neither is a long term solution. Proper partition is the only way. That only leaves Jerusalem...

Since day goddam one Palestine has been in direct contravention of the UN resolution for the creation of Israel, or re-creation as the case may be, and yet all you and your ilk do is decry those uppity Jews for having the temerity to defend themselves from constant aggression for the last 70 years.
