The other article floating around CKA, is that Brian Baumler as the reno expert? If that's the case problem solved. His show is to fix homeowners DIY disasters working with them and getting them to do most of the work after some instruction. So let's just get Justin a tool belt and let him do an actual hard days labour instead of going about destroying the country. Win/win. And if he scratches his head when holding a nail gun and accidentally pulls the trigger we can add another "win".

 You guys crack me up. It's like when Patrick Brazeau was going to mess up his pretty face. How'ed that work for ya'?

For the sake of the country and to exorcise all the old smelly ghosts raze the place to the ground and salt the earth where it once stood. It's the only way to be sure.

Oh, let them have their fun. It's all they've got since dear leader went down in flames. No more Harper Nation. Also, Steveo doesn't project a lot of Mike Holmesian energy either.

Rebuild it! Strike a committee of 3 Libs, 3 Cons, 3 NDP

So would the pot smoking room, bible thumping room and lesbian feminist slam poetry room all be open to the public?

I'm sure there would only be one active at a time, depending on who was PM at the time. The other two could act as a TV room and a rec room until the appropriate weirdo was elected :P

Excuse me, I said I agreed with Justin in doing the renos before he moved in. I also said it was wrong that harper wouldn't move out for a year and allow the reno to take place. As for Brazeau, judging by recent picture he outweighs Justin by 100lbs and add to the fact he's all coked up I don't think Trudeau stands a chance in a rematch.

Ezra Levant: Justin Trudeau, you are well known for your lenient stance on crime, but suppose for a second that your house was ransacked by thugs, your family was tied up in the basement with socks in their mouths, you try to open the door but there's too much blood on the knob —

Justin Trudeau: What is your question?

Ezra Levant: Where do you stand on the rebuilding of 24 Sussex Drive?

Unsound Unsound:
Hhy didn't he fix it? Probably because he didn't want to put up with the stupid complaints that are coming out now that Trudeau is fixing it.

I listened to an hour long radio interview of Maureen McTeer talking about the history and condition if 24_Sussex. At the time that she was an albeit short term resident, there the quote to fix it up was at $10 million. The place is a pile of junk, apparently . She figures that the price tag has doubled since then and the optics of any Prime Minister spending $20 million on their own residence is a non-starter. Trudeau is facing it right now and the hasn't even taken the office, yet.

She indicated that there is nothing particularly special or historic about the place. It was acquired by the government only in 1950 at which time, they gutted it of all of it's quaint, historic interior and replaced it with the usual drywall and cheap stuff interior. There have been some add-ons here and there that make it an architectural dog's breakfast. The property and setting are spectacular but the building is a falling-down piece of crap that, unfortunately, comes with a boat load of political baggage for its occupants. Her point was that, because 24 Sussex is used to entertain the leadership of the World when they visit, it should say something more positive about Canada than second class cheapskate. For a lot less than the $20 million repair cost to save a building that is nothing special in the first place, they should knock it down, build a proper public building that will last a few hundred years and that makes a positive Canadian architectural statement. Her main point is that it is far more than a place for the PM to live. Branding, man. Branding ...

Do I hear 20 million around the corner ?

And then 30 by the time they are finished.

Liberals, they never change.:P

Neither do dumb-ass politicians who are so cheap that they wait and wait until the repairs are so fucking expensive that it's cheaper to knock the building down and start over.

Penny-wise and pound-foolish...
