Mapquest says it's three hours and 16 minutes from Calgary to Golden, although if you've ever travelled that and got stuck behind an RV or semi, it's longer.

The trip could have been several hours shorter if they took 93A through Kootenay National Park. Of course, that requires a park pass or paying $17 per day.

I've driven almost that same exact trip recently and it was pretty close to 10 hours (with breaks only to pee or grab something from a drive through). If you stop for a meal or two, it's closer to 12. I don't know about you, but that much driving wipes me out. I can't drive more than that in a day anymore.

I walked when it first happened, the cops werent impressed either,I was on the tracks and they were on the other side of the river yelling at me on their bullhorn to go back. Then the highway started dissapearing in front of them and a suburban floated by so they took off.

At any rate,I wouldnt want to be the guys that have to drill and blast under that overhang.Or the guys that have to drill the overhang.

I do know the drillers and blasters I worked with up north would drill that no problem and their only 3 hours away. They like outrunning falling and fly rock.
I got video of them doing that. 8O
The blaster used to rip by me on her quad with a stick of dynamite between her legs.

I think the crews that are there are more than capable of handling the blasting. They're familiar with the area.

They are.
I worked with a couple of them.
