Not sure if I know 100% what's involved, what would I be doing?

Basically we are the experts on all communication eqpt in the military. We go out and support all sorts of units so we get to see alot. In an Afghanistan example you can be anything from EW sitting on a hill for six months listening, to being in the HQ at KAF, to travelling in convoys with inf, engineers, MPs etc.

Yeah, it's too bad. I did my GMTI in St Jean with a bunch of infanteers and an engineer and had a great time. Mud, rain, green jammies, and running around the woods with guys shootin' at me. Wish I could have returned the favour and had em all eating steak and puking an hour later.

Hehe they tired the same thing on my buddy who hitched a ride down to help with Katrina. They fed him spaghetti knowing full well they were headed for a hurricane. He made it though ok, the other guy he was with didnt. He said that the clear vomit bag they gave him was icing on the cake.
