There's no telling how far this war can go. Stark statement but true, imo. If Pakistan can't come to terms with really commiting to putting down their pet-cult and letting go of all the dreamy-little-dreams they had of using it as a proxy force then I could see it escalating to the point of a NATO-Indian axis at war with Pakistan.

If they extend the commitment date, it will be to help the Americans, not the Afghans. Personally (and I have NO proof to back this up) I feel that the Americans want the Canadians to stay so they can turn the Canadian forces into a giant PRT.
