Tradition is important, but it doesn't stop changes, some of them subtle, some not.

The change from the Red Ensign to the Maple Leaf flag caused an uproar in the country - pro and con - but it happened anyway.

RCAF changed to "Canadian Armed Forces" and back again.

The RCAF Roundel used to be identical to the RAF Roundel. It has even been changed to have no colour in it (camo gray). That was done as a "trendy" thing to copy the USAF.

I think it looks fine the way it is, but I wouldn't object to an all-red insignia. It has some sense to it.

Anyway, an interesting sideline to a dull, rainy day.

Fair enough, but *Shrugs*. I think the aircraft looks sleek. I tried seeing the underbelly being red (using MS Paint, ) and I think it lacks a bit of the flash and contrast. The Americans should have more fun with Air Force One's paintjob.
