N_Fiddledog N_Fiddledog: I find it interesting that the same people who were outrageously outraged when Trump tactically retreated from Syria rather than get drawn into the middle of a conflict with Turkey, Russia, Iran and the Kurds are now outrageously outraged because he redlined Iran to prevent future Iranian aggressions by showing past incidents, and the discovered plans of their future increase had reached the point they would no longer be tolerated. And if there is no war with Iran - if the Mullahs by some miracle grab a brain and back off - will these people be apologizing and admitting Trump's tactics work in halting conflict? Not likely. If epic mismanagement of all things is his policy then yes it’s working. He’s escalating with Iran because there’s an election this year and Trump remains deeply unpopular, which hypocritically he tweeted endlessly against when Obama was president Typical Republican strategy: make baseless false accusations against democrats then whenever you’re in power actually do the things you falsely accused the Democrats of doing. Or, scream bloody murder about something minor that Democrats are doing, then do it ten times worse when you’re in office. (Other examples: Obamas vacations, Obama’s birth certificate and university transcripts, Obamas executive orders)

Trump doesn't have to start a war to win the next election. He just has to cross his fingers and hope one of those nutcases who are currently the favorites to win the Democratic leadership campaign actually does win.
As far as starting a war goes, I'll believe it when it see it. For now, we can expect a little tit for tat with the Iranians and their proxies. Tat is still where the power is though. America is tat.

Tricks Tricks: Know what would be helpful in that region right now?
Help from the Kurds.
Whoops. Why whoops? It's Iraq. Trump doesn't have any problem with the Iraqi Kurds. The Commie Kurds in Syria might be a little sour, thinking America owes them something but relations with the Kurds in Iraq are still friendly as far as I've heard.

N_Fiddledog N_Fiddledog: Sunnyways Sunnyways: So this vulgar goon announces (by twitter, of course) that he wants to obliterate Iranian cultural sites? That should rally secular liberals to our cause in Iran. Cultural sites? You're not talking about this, are you? $1: "Iran is talking very boldly about targeting certain USA assets as revenge for our ridding the world of their terrorist leader who had just killed an American, & badly wounded many others, not to mention all of the people he had killed over his lifetime, including recently hundreds of Iranian protesters. He was already attacking our Embassy, and preparing for additional hits in other locations. Iran has been nothing but problems for many years. Let this serve as a WARNING that if Iran strikes any Americans, or American assets, we have targeted 52 Iranian sites (representing the 52 American hostages taken by Iran many years ago), some at a very high level & important to Iran & the Iranian culture, and those targets, and Iran itself, WILL BE HIT VERY FAST AND VERY HARD. The USA wants no more threats!" Yes, I am. Why bring cultural sites into his raving threats? That’s worthy of ISIS in Palmyra. It’s like he wants to make sure no Iranian can support the US. The other glaring problem is this idiot’s mode of communication. A most serious change of US policy is made public in an obviously unedited senile screed on Twitter. The man has no idea of the dignity his office demands.

The original threat of attacks on sites came from Iran. http://www.canadaka.net/link.php?id=109889Trump's warning was a counter to those threats. It is curious that he added the idea of sites important to Iranian culture to his list of potential targets. It got me to thinking. What sites of Iranian culture might be important to the Mullahs of Iran. All I could think of were Mosques. So I'm thinking he's saying something like 'If Iran or one of its proxies were to say attack the Washington monument you'd see the dome of the Agha Bozorg Mosque sailing over the strait of Hormuz.

Iraqi MPs back call to expel US troopsAs I mentioned in another thread, Iran has the opportunity to utterly humiliate Trump and get revenge without killing a single American. Let's see if they can do it.....

America should move all its troops north into Kurdish territory.
The Kurds had to give up the territory they won from ISIS out of worry they couldn't handle the Iranian militias supporting Iraq.
Kurdistan, anybody?

$1: Iran says it will no longer abide by nuclear deal limits
The blowback over the U.S. killing of a top Iranian general mounted Sunday as Iran announced it will no longer abide by the limits contained in the 2015 nuclear deal and Iraq's Parliament called for the expulsion of all American troops from Iraqi soil.
The twin developments could bring Iran closer to building an atomic bomb and enable the Islamic State group to stage a comeback in Iraq, making the Middle East a far more dangerous and unstable place.
Iranian state television cited a statement by President Hassan Rouhani's administration saying the country would not observe limits on fuel enrichment, on the size of its enriched uranium stockpile and on its research and development activities.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran no longer faces any limitations in operations," a state TV broadcaster said.
In Iraq, meanwhile, lawmakers voted in favour of a resolution calling for an end to the foreign military presence in the country, including the estimated 5,200 U.S. troops stationed to help battle Islamic State extremists. The bill is subject to approval by the Iraqi government but has the backing of the outgoing prime minister.
In yet another sign of rising tensions and threats of retaliation over the deadly airstrike, the U.S.-led military coalition in Iraq said it is putting the battle against IS on hold to focus on protecting its own troops and bases.

Well they weren't abiding anyway, so nothing of value was lost.

Well they weren't abiding anyway, so nothing of value was lost. Not that you care, but until Trump came into office, Iran was abiding by the deal. Every country, every regulatory agency that was a party to the agreement, were unanimous in their assessment of how Iran was keeping up their end of the deal.
