I've heard a few people say that but they probably were using it inncorrectly. I have heard Canadians exposed to Brits say wanker alot, but a few say wanking around or wanking it up. As in your wanking it up. Again these people have been around Brits that don't say this.
I figure everyone bastardizes a word or two all the time.

What would be the appropriate slang word to describe a Brit expat who has a broomhandle lodged deeply up his ass?

You should stick to telling us how you will beat up old war vets that challenge you wearing a white poppy on Nov 11th.

I'm a war vet...I'd like to see Streaker get up in my face. He has a right to be an ass and wear a white poppy to spit in the face of the vets. But I have a right to call him an ass too.
I'm willing to bet he'd avoid any Gulf War, Balkans Campaign, or Afghanistan vets and only pick on the ones in wheel chairs. Hell I bet a Korean Vet could whip his ass.
He should put his money where his mouth is and show us how much of a man for peace he is.

I wouldn't get up in your or anyone else's face. But if I'm wearing a white poppy and you get up in mine....

I'm not sure who in this thread did or didn't grow up in the UK but if you wanted the real use of the word which comes from the UK......I'd go with that person rather than any bastardized or backward use it's turned into in North America.

........and on that note please get this topic back on track.

"Wanker" is harmless enough. You're not in any real danger from a Brit until they start referring to you as a "toe-rag".
