Meh, I'll probably just get one of those plastic frames to cover up the new motto if it does wind up being "strong and free." I don't think it's too "American," I just don't think Alberta has any right to co-opt a line from the national anthem.

It's a God dam license plate, who cares.

I still have my old tags and can transfer those for free.

Why not? Isn't Alberta part of Canada? I'd say any part of our anthem is good for any Province to use as a motto on a plate.
It's better than 'keep it beautiful' as smog is churned out of Toronto and Greenpark Builders level another forest to build a sub-division. Good old enviromentally friendly Ontario Liberals. Term #2.

No doubt, also many provincial flags have the Union Jack, and Quebec has the Fleur de Lis. There is a history of provinces taking something from the parent country.

I think a big Union Jack plate with, "Alberta hated the NEP and we remember!" would be nice!

It's true mate, they usually give the sub division that's tree-less a nice name like "Bronte Woods" or "The Orchard". No trees left there except the skinny 5 year saplings the developers leave.

What the hell is up with your plates anyway? When I lived in Edmonton I saw so many that were cracked like the one above.

Quality control kind of goes out the window when we’re paying $5 a day for the workers wages.

Only in Ontario? Uh uh. That's exactly what Coquitlam looks like too - the tree huggers have to live somewhere.

But then.... when your urban areas sprawl.... no need to cut down trees to make room, is there? :D

no we build around our forests :D
