A few years ago there was a cougar prowling the streets of downtown Vancouver. One of teh reasons I decided to live here. That's cool!

That would be the four-legged variety. Although in North Van, where I live, must be good habitat for the other kind of cougar, because they are on the prowl everywhere. That's OK--I'm 44. I'll take any attention I get!

I see deer all over my neighborhood, A few years back there was a cougar (4 legged) in the Altadore/Lakeview area, and a black bear once.
I'm close to Fish Creek Park and the Reservation, I see all knds of wild- life.
Last winter I had a Bobcat in my backyard, I've seen porcupine on the hill behind my house and skunks all the time.
Friend of mine lives just outside of Bragg Creek, he has 6 acres and sees Moose, Elk and Whittail, coyotes you name it. once you go past his fenceline you can hunt, next fall the rifle is comming wiith me.

There's been deer in the Don Valley Parkway corridor a couple of miles from the downtown for some years. I saw a deer myself in a park within the City of Toronto (Metro) boundaries during this summer. In the last five years or so the deer have moved from the suburban parks into the city proper (population 2.5 million) by way of the series of conected ravine parks the city has.

I've also seen a beaver, pheasants and the occational muskrat in the cities parks in my 1000 or so visits to them.,
