Yes Inky you have been the MP for 13 years and therefore I'd think you had learned something, like this happens all the time. Between him and his President they could not see it coming? Head office tried this "oh hold off on the nomination" thing on our riding 10 years back when I was President of it and we told them to sit and rotate and that we were holding nominations on the date we had already set. They backed off realizing without the board of volunteer support anyone they sent in themselves was sunk.

I knew Inky back in the day and anyone he wants in I would not vote for, the guy is a tool.

$1:
Former riding president Wayne Mathison had intended to throw his hat into the ring but met with roadblocks along the way.

That August, the party used an automatic dialer to call local Conservatives and tell them nominations were open for 21 days.

Mathison and many others in the riding never received the party's automatic call. The nomination deadline came and went, and Sopuck was acclaimed by the party as the Conservative candidate in the riding.

Inky got 61% of the vote. Obviously others would vote for him and did.

It'll be nice to have another independent in the HoC..

Yes i read the part that said how the President had no idea what was going on about the calls to his members or how he didn't have the guts to tell off head office. Needed a better president I guess. Presidents of ridings with long standing incumbents tend to be pretty lame and useless anyhow as things run well on the MPs name alone.

Any Conservative candidate in his area would get over 50% of the vote, they could run cattle under the banner and it would win. 61% is not that impressive in that riding, and Inky is still a dink IMO no matter how many people didn't hear him going on in the back rooms.

A conservative will get in not an independent so no worries, refer to my comment about running cattle.
