The reason why Europe is so low on that list? 25 paid vacation days, 13 ATV-days (paid) (that's for people who still work 40 hours a week, instead of 38), and sick days except for the first one are paid too.

I would imagine that there are a few people out there that have never called in sick when they really weren't or given some other excuse to miss work but 48% seems pretty high to me.

The one thing that really sucks about skipping work now a days is that with cell phones and things like remote desktop you never really get away from it anyways.

I was about to say that I set my own work schedule too but really when I look at it it's the other way around. My work sets the schedule for the rest of my life. Kind of a depressing realization for a Saturday morning

Sad but true. Even on my days off it isn't unusual to get a call from work. When I see the call display I go through that brief debate... answer it, ignore it... yikes! They found me anyway! lol...
