SUNRISE, Fla. -- The Florida Panthers got the first laugh, proudly announcing on their giant scoreboard that the temperature here is a balmy 24 C while the poor suckers in Edmonton are frozen under at -27 C.

One of the best coaching moves Quinn has made so far is that he?s realized that the hype around Gagner in shoot outs is just that, hype. He was deadly as a rookie but now every goalie knows if they don?t bite on the first 5 or 6 moves, he eventually just runs out of room.

No kidding. I hope they shape up soon. Things are looking bleak.

Makes me love the junior hockey all the more. At least one of my sets of boys is winning.
