Ken McGoogan, who wrote How the Scots Invented Canada, said that geographical boundaries could be irrelevant so Scotland should find its new home with Canada.
Given Scotland's not so sunny warm climate, I think we'd be much better off making the Turk's and Caico's islands part of Nova Scotia before we invite that sodden piece of bog to become part of our country.
Besides, there are alot more problems with Scotland than we need or want.
There's a big reason why Scotland is terrified of leaving the EU and it has nothing to do with wanting European pan nationalism. They as a nation want to keep feeding off someone else's teat and if they lose that ability the next step is what New Zealands welfare state had to go through back in 84. Economic collapse.
I'd say maybe Canada could join Scotland... but then, the EU with its current border policies is no place to be.
Make it a package deal... The UK keeps Scotland AND Canada re-ups on the (Brit/Can/Aussie/Kiwi) Commonwealth, strengthening ties between the most natural of allies, strategic, economic, and familial.
My family is Scotish and I have lived and gone to school there, The last thing Canada needs is a bunch more left wing wacko's, we already have enough of our own
