Parched conditions on British Columbia's West Coast have prompted a campfire ban.

    Good.

    As responsible as most people are about the proper control of campfires there are too many idiots who have no clue what they are doing. The ban just makes sense. Hopefully people obey the rules as it has been proven too many times that a good portion of wildfires are caused by carelessness of people.

    Jeez we had ONE day of hot weather yesterday only 2 in a row without rain. Fire burning on the other side of the lake already!

    Maybe it took 75 years for a Japanese fire balloon to go off. They weren't known for quality products in those days :D

    I would expect the mountain pine beetle has helped quite a bit, leaving all those standing dead trees everywhere....
