Could someone explain to me how naming a rock by using the native jargon for native people is an insult to natives?

I don't have a problem with the naming of The Salish Sea or Haida Gwaii as the indigenous people have been here for more than 1,000 years, if not a lot longer. What they could do is add the Squamish nation's name of Skalsh or Slhx?i7lsh along with Siwash, the same thing they are doing with the road signs on the Sea to Sky highway....even if no non native speaker will ever get the pronunciation correct.....
