    AMEN!

Through various conversations I've had in the last few days this was my point. It's freaking January and NOW is the ideal time to make people stay home. Why the hell would you want to go out anyway while it's snowing/raining/windy/crappy and dark by 5pm?

Yea, they basically have the perfect conditions; warm water in the Sea of Japan, cold air from Siberia, and a low pressure system hovering around and causing air coming off the mountains to precipitate.
