It wobbles the mind. In the opinion piece, it also mentions that first thing after being elected, Kenney cancelled the Carbon Levy. That income would have paid for this research.
The great Conservative Sweep It Under the Rug solution.
New tax break for Coca-Cola for capturing CO2 and storing it in cans.....
2) it would allow Trudeau to confirm a commitment to AB and basically tell Kenney and the rest of the right-wing stooges to fuck off the next time they start caterwauling about Ottawa doing nothing for AB
3) it would make a massive cut in emissions, which is what everyone allegedly wants to happen, right?
4) it would be more than a fitting payback to AB taxpayers to have it funded by Ottawa, given the nearly one trillion dollars in taxes the feds have taken out of this province since the 1960's that fund all this other goofball "cultural" shit across the country that no one in AB ever receives any benefits from
Sometimes you actually have to take some fresh water and feed out to the cow that's nearly been milked to death over the last six decades if you're even remotely serious with your talk of "helping". Just do it, for nothing more greater than pissing off Jason Kenney because that disingenuous bastard is at least 50/50 wanting Trudeau to reject the idea altogether just so the UCP can get a booster shot for their nonstop anti-federal government propaganda.
