Climate activists calling for an end to a gas pipeline project in northern British Columbia threw maple syrup on an Emily Carr painting and glued themselves to the wall at the Vancouver Art Gallery.

Disgraceful. I'm getting tired of these so-called activists using vandalism as their method of messaging.

White limousine liberals are a bane on the earth and quite literally some of the most obnoxious people who've ever existed.

Meh. They know the paintings are protected. There will be no damage.

But the are having the intended effect of getting people to talk about it.

Only in that the talk is entirely about what a bunch of childish shits they are and not about the causes they're allegedly representing. I encourage them to set themselves on fire in order to display how serious they are about all this.

They're lucky to live in Canada or Britain or Europe or other places that gave up a long time ago in using the legal authorities to keep people from being stupid on purpose.

I'm actually amazed that more people aren't out there doing whatever crimes they want, both the shitty little idiot kind doing stunts like this all the way through to the major league organized crime types. It's not like anyone in power gives a fuck about prevention anymore. It's gotta be a goddamn field day out there for anyone who decides to go for broke knowing that the only reaction from the powers that be comes after the act is completed, simply because there's zero interest anymore in doing anything that could prevent the act from happening to begin with. Like who even gets punished for anything in this society anymore? Only the low-level poverty-stricken schlubs who get caught with an expired car registration because they can't afford to pay for the paperwork anymore?

How many art galleries and museums are in totalitarian states that are not shires to the dear leader?

Not many I would assume. So when the elites in places that have a choice in who rules are being ridiculed is it the protestors really the issue of angst or is it the embarrassment they reveal the real issue?

What good is the right to protest in a free society if you can't weld it for cause?

I'd like to hear the talk about them being criminally charged for vandalism.
