Canadian Forces hope to thwart Afghan bombings

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan - The Canadian military calls improvised explosive devices a fact of life in Afghanistan and says the crude bombs, known as IEDs, are a sign of a weakened and desperate insurgency that cannot fight a traditional battle.
