American fighter jets will be involved in security operations during the Vancouver Olympics by keeping a close eye on airspace in the region, the head of the North American Aerospace Defence Command said Saturday

    And? They were taken by surprise by terrorists who hijacked commercial jets. Obviously when their mission is to patrol an event surprise won't be an issue.
