An ex-serviceman refuses to take down the Canadian flag on his balcony in a subsidized housing unit in Cardinal, Ont., even though the local housing authority is threatening to evict him.
IMHO, the housing authority needs to put up a pole and fly the flag. They also need to allow specific-date Canadian flag display from balconies on such days as Victoria Day, Canada Day, and Remembrance Day. Letting one hang from an apartment all the time could come back to bite them, if someone decides to hang another county's flag from their balcony,( ie: during World Cup or some other "fiercely nationalistic" event.)...or if those Rainbow Flags start showing up..
I am going on a limb here but the only reason he could be asked to take it down -> is if the flag was all frayed or bleached by the sun. Then it should be replaced, not taken down.

Otherwise, the landlord can go and fuck himself.
