These drugs aren't legal can they not see the court cases arising from this. Wait till one of the families sues them for accidentally killing little johnny drug user.
Dont see any weed smoking facilites kicking around. Here druggies have a nice warm place to do drugs,
"Oh but the get help to go to the programs". Yeah if they were really serious about going they could have done so along time ago.
Leave it up to Quebec and Vancouver to come up with such a stupid idea
throw the f#cking addicts, and pushers into jail. Society would be better off without them.
IDIOTS! Open a government funded site to make sure that junkies can take illegal drugs.
So what if they're illegal? Do you have any better reason for this to not exist than the law?
A country that cares about trying to treat addiction and reducing suffering for addicts. If the first thing we can't admit about drug addicts is that they will continue to need the drugs they're addicted to while they're becoming unaddicted to them, then there is little hope for their treatment.

Not one person has died at the Insite clinic in Vancouver, a city that has a reputation for its heroin addicts. Do you have some other safe injection site statistics that counter this? Oh, wait.. there aren't any others in Canada yet!

Weed isn't addictive.
They are not proposing a drug den, they are proposing a safe, clean place for addicts to get their fix, which can drastically cut down on infection rates, has shown to successfully get at least some people off the drugs they're injecting, and has not increased the crime rate.

Why does it matter when someone decides to recover from an addiction? Is there a time limit now?
It's only stupid because you fail to understand the ethical and moral grounds you base your own arguments on.
most canadians agree that drugs and drug abuse are at the top of the list of concerns for anyone that is concerned about the crime rates in their neighborhood.

I disagree. Society would be better off without incompassionate morons like yourself who think people are not people just because they got into a situation that caused them to make a bad choice.
I can't believe we have to have this same stupid argument all over again because some people are just too fickle and thickheaded and refuse to learn about anything if the law declares it bad. Here's some news for you: the law is not always right. In fact, the law can be utterly, maddeningly wrong. In the case of safe injection sites, some people consider it more important to follow the rule of law than to help people who can barely help themselves. Such people have fucked up priorities, and have an addiction of their own - an addiction to authority without reason.
It's not working in BC so I guess we better share the experience.
Vanouver leads the country and is very close for worst property crimes so addicts can make money to buy illegal drugs. Drug dealers now have a steady and state sponsored market for their illegal product.
Unless it's to pay RENT in the Vancouver market!
