We were before?
EDIT: to correct unfortunate "blow other people" sentence segment. My bad, must've been thinking about something else. Trolling PSG for too long will do that to a guy.
The bleeding hearts should wake and use the olfactory organ they posses to enjoy the roses.
And yes, the olfactory organs possessed by the non-bleeding hearts smell only bullshit.
Come on... which would you rather smell.... roses or bullshit?
That's a no-brainer to me.
Depends.. do you want to be right or wrong?
If we ignore the very laws we are sending our troops to die to protect, then what are we really accomplishing?
The right thing to do is usually never the easiest. The integrity of the Crown rests on our ability and willingness to uphold our laws for everyone.
"CSIS agents interrogated Khadr without first advising him of his right to counsel, a violation of his basic legal rights."
I am getting really sick of these people feeling sorry for these people that get mixed up in these terrorist organizations just because they got a canadian citizenship. He got himself involved in that mess, and we shouldn't bail every single Canadian out of a sticky situation that they got themselves in just because they are a Canadian Citizen.
Al'quada's new tactic is to strap bombs to little kids and make them run to NATO troops in hope that they won't kill them because they are just kids in hope the kid will get close enough to kill the NATO troops. The same sick sons of bitches that these people including this kid got involved with and represented. You really want to give that son of a bitch some rights? maybe have him live next door to you? Even though he killed a Canadian Soldier? All because hes a Canadian Citizen? Fuck that, let him rot in there. Let them all rot in there.
Theres no law that sais once you commit horrible acts that you got any rights anymore.
Actually the laws are very clear both in Canada and internationally that if you are accused of a crime you do have rights.
That is what protects you and me from being arbitrarily pulled off the street and held without access to legal counsel and a speedy fair trial.
If we ignore those rights then two things will happen:
a) Criminals will be set free because they were denied their rights
b) Honest people will start to fear that if they are accused of a crime they did not commit then justice may not be served.
These rights are fundamental to our freedoms, if we choose to ignore the rights of certain people just because we are TOLD that they are criminals ...then what the fuck are we doing in Afghanistan anyways?

I'm not defending him. I'm defending our laws that say even scum bags are protected by the same rights you and I are.
I am all for protecting all of our rights and freedoms as Canadians.
The rule of law is only as good as our capacity and willingness to enforce it.
If we pick and choose what rights and laws apply to what Canadians then we have lost.
