What is the mortality rate of suspects who have been tasered?
What is the mortality ratre of suspects who have been shot with a police officers gun.
To ban taser use is to invite the use of leathal force when an officer feels he is in danger, Police are trained to fire at center mass when using firearms.
I would say a few deaths compared to what could be is acceptable.

Why dont they use pepper spray anymore?

While I do think tasers have a place in policing, I feel they are being used more frequently instead of "old fashioned policing"

Because someone under the influence of Meth, Coke, or PCP is able to ignore the effects of pepper spray.

Because I cant pack my rifle in the bush anymore I pack bear spray and I would rather use it then a tazer on a bear.It also sprays a long ways.

I think it's a bit of a myth that the only time police use tasers is when they would otherwise use lethal force (e.g. shoot). I've seen or read of a ton of examples where tasers were used because the suspect/person of interest did not immediately comply with a police demand.

I'm not saying that's the case here, but it's certainly a problem.

Tasers are lethal weapons and at this point they should be treated as such. I know myself if I am confronted with someone aiming one at me I'll treat it the same as if they were aiming a loaded pistol at me.

This is a good point. Some may blame the media for exaggerating the cases resulting in fatalities, while the thousands of other taser incidents that end well are ignored. But the fact is that a lot people may react to a taser as if they had a gun pointed at them.
