I think if the situation were reversed and Quebec was giving money to a province that produced a surplus with their money you would see the difference.

You cannot produce a surplus when you take 8 billion in equalization payments. Bravo for good fiscal management but the headline should read:

"Quebec needs less money in equalization payments due to good fiscal policies".

I think that surplus would cover the shortfall Ontario has due to us contributing a shitload to equalization. Make the check payable to Dalton McGuinty or just make it out to cash and send it to my house.
