Im all for these restrictions, driving is privledge, not a right.
fuck around with it, lose it.
and anyway, it'll get the kids into better driving habits.

ok so the rule should be the same for everyone right? not just under 21. Get caught speeding lose your license right? or am i missing something in your statement?
And drinking and driving should be across the board...lose the license if you are caught, regardless of age or driving experience.
Why just young drivers it should be for all NEW drivers.

agreed but sadly this doesnt happen. would be awesome though
The world is changing; Ontario is becoming a safer place, but are we sacrificing freedom for safety?
for me, people just learning to drive dont deserve a lot of freedom.
they are in charge of a very dangerous thing, and too many people everywhere
have died because these noobs have no respect for what they are doing.
If they dont respect it, it is up to the government to beat some respect into them.
If the laws become more restrictive, even draconian, so be it.
After 25 years of driving, i have seen too much to have much sympathy for
kiddie drivers.
Once again, its a privledge, not a right......
Another law to prove the Canadian government is one of the world's stupidest governments. I'm way past being a teenager and I think this is just idiotic. There are people of all ages who get behind the wheel of a car after drinking and cause accidents that kill people. So why in the world just pass these laws for just those under 21? People of ALL AGES DRINK, DRIVE AND KILL PEOPLE WHILE DRIVING FAST AND INTOXICATED. What's wrong with the Canadian lawmakers? I know...they don't want to include their age group in this law because they don't want to make driving less restrictive for THEM!!! This law is just one of many stupid decisions by the Canadian gov't. which is why I will probably never hold up a Canadian flag on Canada Day!!!
I agree. Why limit the 0% to under 21? Make it 0% across-the-baord. Otherwise, that should be considered age discrimination. And one ticket and you are done? That is a little absurd. My brother got a ticket once because he was making a left turn and a faster car was passing him on the right. The officer did not see the other vehicle and gave my brother the ticket. A fairer guideline would be, say, 2 tickets in a rolling 12-month period. That would help eliminate a potential false charge.
***Edit for spleling***
The legal drinking and voting age should be set back to 21, eliminate the young offenders act and majority of the issues regarding irresponsible behavior by the young will disappear. However, just like giving candy to a baby and then taking it away, the whining that will come out of this will be loud. Tough, just suck harder on the soother and be happy riding the loser-cruiser.
Mcguinty has been quoted as saying that is a modest restriction to youth's freedoms. Anybody find something wrong with that? This is easily (minus the alcohol part) the most retarded piece of legislation this government has put forth. I hope this is remembered by today's youth in the next election.
There are a great many retarded pieces of legislation that this government has put forth and that is why I can't hold up a Canadian flag on Canada Day, or any other day.

No offense but that is a stupid thing to say.
