I had a similar situation with a vehicle. A fellow was buying a van,and after about 10 mos he could no longer afford it so the vehicle was reposesed by the bank. ( the same bank I dealt with). I heard about the van and bought it from the bank for 'balance owing'. A few days later, the fellow who had been making the payments on the van approached me and stated that since he had paid almost $10,000 on the van, he felt that 'in all fairness 'I owed him half of that amount! By his reasoning, I would not have been able to purchase the vehicle for the price that I did, had he not paid what he did before it was reposessed. This dink wouldn't quit hounding me either! I finally brought in an arbitrator to explain to him how such things work. In the end, I did sell him one of my other vans, albeit older, but in excellent shape, for an amount that he could afford.
Well that was nice of you Yogi...I wouldnt have been.

Me either, I would have offered him advice on how the real world works. You don't pay your bills tough shit for you.

This went on for over a month. I was just soooo happy to get rid of him! Where finally got his attention was when 'I agreed to pay him the money he wanted, but in return, he would have to give me the 'write-off' for the payments he had made, + any money I would give him I would 'claim' that also and he would be required to pay income tax on it. The arbitrator agreed with me, so the guy changed his attitude real quick!

Sometimes things get in the way of our best intentions.
No doubt, but it doesn't permit you to harass someone who is better off then you. I've had ups and downs, and it's no ones fault but my own.
I would have gone East Van on him...that would have been after a day...a month he would have gone swimming in the Fraser
So folks you now have the answer to the question. Why are all those feet washing up on the shore?

They speculate that the feet are washing DOWN the Fraser, rather than in from the ocean, so you may be on to something......
Purely for intrerest's sake, and not because I'm speculating anything with regard to your comment and any potential reaction by a certain party....
What size are your feet and what brand of shoe do you wear?
Thats a really good question Lily...

Wow, kudos to you for keeping a cool head. I would have pointed out the finer points of law to the bum while they were behind bars.
