I actually saw a semi make a u-turn on an interstate one night at 4am and drive the wrong way. I was on the service road and called the highway patrol. Damn lucky that nobody came along and hit him. A few weeks later, a 70y/o woman got on at the same spot going the wrong way, hitting an 18y/o head-on. The 70y/o died but the 18y/o only had minor injuries. Scary.
Did the old guy drive in the passing lane like everyone else does on the 401, passing or not? He's old and senile and should have his license revoked but what is the excuse for all the other incompetents on the road? 2/3 of the drivers on the road should have their licenses revoked. Mandatory skid school training is necessary as well as a two day accident avoidance session at a local racetrack like Mosport. Why is it those following need to get so close so as to be able to count the zits on the back of my neck? It's winter now so get snow tires so you can keep up with traffic. Lobby your local Ontario MP to get rid of the ban on studded tires - Ontario is only one of three North American jurisdictions banning their use. One last thing; that stick on the left side of the steering wheel needs to be used once in a while to signal your intentions well ahead of you making the move.
I looked after a patient who drove the wrong way on the 401.. he killed a family of 4 and he didnt even know it.. manditory testing after 65 should be the law.

mandatory testing should be for everyone every 5 years, or at least a written test every couple of years.
If you pass it's free if you fail you foot the cost.

If you pass it's free if you fail you foot the cost. I think that is a pretty good solution. Seriously.

Quite right you are .. its very difficult to request a senior be tested.. even if there is a question of competence the doctors fight having the license taken away until they cant fight anymore.. even in mental health this is a sticky issue

What do you mean "going the wrong way"? How do you know where he was going?
