The Defence Department is building an equipment depot in British Columbia to improve how the Ottawa-based Joint Task Force 2 counter-terrorism unit responds to threats on the West Coast.

WTF? Esquimalt? Why not put it on the mainland? At the very least put it at comox where they have air support.

My guess would be they would be training with more maritime equipment (like the subs). Besides, they can fly where they want as they are a small unit.
