Allen Ayer says he feels lucky to be alive after a scary trampling by a moose over the weekend left the Prince George, B.C., man bruised but without major injuries.
Holy...he is pretty lucky...most times when a swamp donkey goes after a person, they stomp them flat. A momma protecting her kid, not too many things on earth as dangerous as that.
My younger brother got a bit of a shit-kicking from a moose right in his yard about 10 years ago. He was somehow able to crawl underneath his mobile home. Ziggy might have heard about it as it happened right in Coleman.
This is why if you can't control your dogs, even in the woods, keep them on a leash.
I know a guy that works as a ranger in a park north of Montreal. He would call a moose and when the moose charged, he'd stand his ground until the last moment, get out of the way and slap the moose on is rump as he went by. He told me that moose have very bad eyesight and usually follow the same paths through the woods.

Dont remember that one. Anyone who snowmobiles though has probably had an encounter with a moose as they love the snowmobile trails but they dont like to share. I had a standoff one new years eve all by myself on the trail. We were there allmost 2 hours before i finally burnt on by him. My stepdad had to crawl inside one of those old skidoo trailers once as a moose did the dance on his snowmobile hood. They scare me more then bears when in the bush.
drving down the highway, see a moose coming out of the forest, with a calf. She gets up to the side of the road, stops.. I stop the car about 30 meters in front of her.. another car coming the other way does the same and stops.
Moose looks at me, looks at the other car, then starts across the highway, while we wait, calf in tow.
